The crowd waits in hushed expectancy as the handler signals his dog to wait at the far end of the dock. Even though the dog obediently sits, you can practically see the coiled energy of a dog ready to run. The handler reaches the end of the dock. He gives another signal. The dog explodes down the dock and launches himself into a long jump before splashing into the pool. As soon as the dog hits the water, the crowd bursts into cheers and applause. The dog had leaped 26 feet off the dock!

Who are these dogs that seem to fly? They're the dock jumping organization, Ultimate Air Dogs, and they're coming to PawsAbilities!

At PawsAbilities, dogs can compete in two different categories of dock jumping:

Splash

Splash is the equivalent of a long jump. Dogs run down the dock and launch themselves off the end into the pool. Distance is measured from the end of the dock to the base of the dog's tail.

Catch It

Catch It is Ultimate Air Dogs' unique twist on Splash. It is run the same way as Splash, except the dog must catch an object that is thrown. The jump will only count if the dog catches the object in the air.

Registration

Any dog can participate in Ultimate Air Dogs. UAD believes that all dogs are special, whether they are a novice or the longest-jumping Ultimate Jumper. Think you might want to compete in the Ultimate Air Dogs competition at PawsAbilities? This is a very popular event, so we recommend pre-registering to reserve your spot. You will need to pre-register with UAD.

There will be a limited number of spots open the day of PawsAbilities. These spots will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
